Level: Beginner–Intermediate (no prior AI experience required, but you must be confident navigating your computer and files.)

Course Description

Are you a rug hooker, punch needler or textile artist who wants fresh design ideas and the ability to make faster, easier colour decisions? This interactive Zoom workshop will provide a friendly “on-ramp” to using Artificial Intelligence (Ai) tools. You will learn how to use free and/or low-cost Ai Applications and discover practical ways to generate designs, audition colour palettes and create print-ready patterns, all while keeping your personal style and aesthetic front and centre. Experience the software, and develop the necessary skills to collaborate with Ai: writing effective prompts, adapting and altering your photographs, and creating colour plans with confidence. How to use Ai responsibly to ensure originality and reduce environmental impact will be addressed.

What You’ll Need

A computer or tablet with reliable internet and Zoom.
Simple design idea and 2-3 photos you’d like to adapt for rug hooking
Free account for at least 1 AI platform (options and setup guide will be provided)
