This 4 hour dye workshop will show fibre artists how to use The Wooly Mason Jar (WMJ) system. It is suitable for both novice and experienced dyers who want to try a simple system of “dyeing without dye spoons” that uses just 5 dye colours. Participants will leave the workshop with a good understanding of the colour wheel, dye theory, and the ability to dye a wide range of wool fibres (fabric, roving, yarn) to different hues and values. Participants will take home samples of different hues of fibres created in the workshop.
All supplies will be provided on the day of the workshop. If desired, participants can purchase The Wooly Mason Jar dyes, gram scale and values swatches by contacting Lucy Richard at lucy@thewoolymasonjar.com or by visiting www.thewoolymasonjar.com.
To Bring:
Participants should wear cotton clothing that they don’t mind getting wet or messy and closed toed shoes.
Apron if desired.
